The Trip:
Gorgeous day ... went to Woodland Bottoms to see if we could find the Black Phoebe which had been reported there yesterday ... SUCCESS !!!!!!!!! ... this is the 2nd recorded Black Phoebe in Cowlitz County, the first being a few years ago ... didn't really bird much, just drove the Dike Road and spent the time looking for the Phoebe ... did have another new Woodland Bottoms species - the Warbling Vireo !!!
Woodland Bottoms:
Woodland Bottoms is the floodplain of the Lewis River. The area is in Cowlitz County and is bordered on the north by Burke Slough, on the south by the Lewis River, on the east by Interstate 5, and on the west by the Columbia River.
