"Portland and Vancouver" ... March 3, 4, and 7, 2019"
Rivergate Industrial, PDX Fire Station, and Fazio Farms (Portland, Oregon)
Wintler Park, Fort Vancouver, Fruit Valley Park, and LaFrambois Road (Vancouver, Washington)
The Trips:    Numerous short stops at a variety of places, most within our Five Mile Radius area.

March 3:   Cold cold COLD and WINDY winter day, with bright sunshine ... went to the Purina Complex at the Rivergate Industrial Area to look for the Tri-colored Blackbird which has been seen there ... no luck, but had nice views of one male and a couple of female Yellow-head Blackbirds. Then on to the PDX Fire Station to look for the Barn Owl which has been there for 2 days (no luck). Then a stop at Wintler Park on the Washington side to see if the Scaup flock (with the Tufted) was there (nope) and finally a stop at Fort Vancouver to look for the Great Horned Owl nest which is there ... no luck there either.

March 4:   MORE cold and wind but yet bright sunshine ... went to the Fazio Farms area behind PDX to look for the flock of American Pipits which were seen there yesterday. Dipped on the first pass but visited an hour later and found them !!! ... also stops at the PDX Fire Station and Broughton Beach parking lot. Then over to the Washington side to Fort Vanccouver to look for the Great Horn Owl nest (had better directions for finding) and SUCCESS !!!

March 7:   Overcast and cool with slightly warmer west wind instead of the Arctic east wind ... went to the PDX Fire Station to look for the Barn Owl ... SUCCESS !!! (thanks Nick M. and Jeff D. for your help) and then on to Fruit Valley Park and LaFrambois Road to hunt for more 5MR birds.
