"Mount Hood, Oregon ... July 17, 2010"

The Trip:    Beautiful summer day, windy but not too bad ... we went to Timberline looking for wildflowers but found very very few ... just too early in the snow melt season ... bird-wise was hoping to get the Cassin's Finch and the Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch ... SUCCESS !!! ... and the surprise was getting a THIRD NEW PHOTO BIRD - the Townsend's Solitaire ... Mount Hood, Oregon:    Mount Hood, one of the large Cascade Range volcanoes, lies about 50 miles east of Portland, Oregon. Timberline Lodge lies at the 6,000-foot level ...
