"Larch Mountain, Oregon ... July 19, 2012"
The Trip:    Hot humid overcast day ... went to look for some Gray Jays which had been reported near the picnic area ... no success with them but spent two hours being serenaded by a HERMIT THRUSH !!!!! ... very nice.

Larch Mountain:    Larch Mountain is a large volcanic cone located east of Portland ... there is a road to a parking lot near the top and a short climb to Sherrard Point, a spot which provides spectacular views of the Cascades ... Larch Mountain is a fantastic spot during wildflower season.

Birds seen, heard, or photographed ... (in alphabetical order):
  1. Black-capped Chickadee ...
  2. Dark-eyed Junco ...
  3.   Hermit Thrush ...
  4. Varied Thrush ...
