Multnomah County:
Multnomah County, Oregon, stretches for more than 50 miles along the Columbia River, from Sauvie Island, northwest of Portland, to Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge.
A lot of variety in habitat makes for quite a few different birds.
Multnomah County includes the lower half of Sauvie Island, many small ponds and lakes such as Smith and Bybee, Force and Heron Lakes, the Vanport Wetlands, and Whitaker Ponds, the
Columbia River from the I-5 bridge to just east of the I-205 bridge (Broughton Beach, Hayden Island, and the walking path), many small buttes such as Mount Tabor and Powell Butte, and to the east is the community of Troutdale, the Sandy River Delta, Larch Mountain, the Oregon side of Bonneville Dam and the mouth of Eagle Creek.
Heading south into Multnomah County includes Portland and the Willamette River.
Columbia County lies to the northwest and Washington County lies to the south. East is Hood River County. Across the Columbia on the Washington side is Clark County.
