"American Wigeon"
American Wigeon:    Tha name "wigeon" is derived from the French word "vigeon" for "a whistling duck". In 1897, the American Ornithologists' Union called the American Wigeon the "Baldpate". In their publiction "The Auk" (Vol.XIV), they wrote: "Baldpate -- Commonly known as Zan-zan, from the noise it makes; also as Widgeon and Whistling Duck."
